Roots Africa Tours was formed by Messrs. Norman Mentor, Owen Jinka and Temba Mgobozi. It's main goal is to show tourists the various opportunities the new South Africa has to offer. At the time Mr. Mgobozi was the Chairperson of the Khayelitsha Cluster Initiative. Being members of the disadvantaged community and after doing some research, we realized that more tourists were showing a keen interest in the new South Africa from a black person's perspective. We incorporated into all our tours the importance of showing the confidence that the people from the disadvantaged community have about building the new South Africa. Over the past few years we have succeeded in securing various donations for the community of Khayelitsha as well as supporting various institutions. NB: Roots Africa Tours in conjunction with CC Africa have undertaken a trip to Germany in 2004 with the Harry Gwala School Choir. The choir was invited by Hyundai Germany to visit their country for a two-week excursion, performing at various locations. At the beginning of 2004 Roots Africa Tours was identified by Cape Town Routs Unlimited as one of the companies they would like to assist as part of the Black Economic Empowerment program. Our representative, Owen jinka attended the Advanced Training course and in 2005 a mentor was appointed to assist the company in their growth. In 2007 Roots Africa Tours was one of four companies invited by Cape Town Tourism to represent the Western Cape at the World Travel Market in London Our Mission

For the company to become a leading organisation within the tourism field sending clients back to their countries of origin with a positive perception of the new South Africa. |
